I was on the computer just now when my mouse froze and the computer started screaming robot/ghost howls at me.

I turned the speakers off but the noises didn't stop.

I am. . .terrified?

my mother says she had a sewing machine that did that, turns out it was picking up CB radio or something, I never believed such a thing was possible until a neighbor's computer speakers did it right infront of me

I had an old computer monitor that would flicker with each incoming cell phone call a moment before the ring - and an old clock radio which would do an audio equivalent of the same thing.

A long Skype session on speakers also tuned us in to Radio Disney, playing quietly and unstoppably in the background - a friend's cell phone also picks up the station.

As for the screaming computer, there once was a very bad Mac model that would do that and the only way to stop them was zapping the perimeter RAM. (Cmd+opt+P+R at start-up). I was a lab monitor for a whole classroom full of them back in the day.

It all reminds me of that Itchy and Scratchy Land episode of the Simpsons where a scientist takes the face off a robot and it screams, and he says something like, "I hate it when they scream."

If it's beeping, the motherboard is telling you something is wrong with it. IT IS CRYING FOR HELP.

I once picked up a weird conversation in Spanish on my old computer speakers once. They were saying, "Can you hear me?" No one believed me. :(
